The Panchayati Raj Establishment (PRI) elections in Himachal Pradesh shall be held in three phases within the subsequent month, the state election commissioner stated on Monday. Issuing the election schedule, State Election Commissioner Parthasarthi Mitra stated that the polls to the PRI could be held on January 17, 19 and 21.
The nomination papers perhaps filed from 11 am to three pm from December 31 to January 2. The scrutiny shall be held on January 4 and the nominations perhaps withdrawn from 10 am to three pm on January 6.
The counting of votes for ward members, ‘up-pradhan’ and ‘pradhan’ of gram panchayat shall be performed quickly after completion of voting. Nonetheless, the counting of votes for members of the panchayat samiti and zila parishad shall be performed on January 22.
The election course of shall be accomplished by January 23, he added. Earlier on December 17, the state election commissioner stated that municipal council and nagar panchayat elections within the state could be held on January 10.
